Developer

Location: Manchester City Centre (Hybrid)

We’re a specialist creative, digital and communications agency and we’re on the lookout for another developer to join our talented troupe.

You’ll be joining our growing development team, responsible for the development and maintenance of digital solutions for our clients including Tesco, Amazon, DHL and Clifford Chance.  Projects vary in scale so you could be working within a larger team or independently owning delivery of smaller projects, so if you’re looking for variety and challenge in your role, we’ve got it in spades.  From week to week you could be developing interactive learning content, creating data dashboards to connect disparate systems through the use of APIs, or apps to help organisations communicate with their staff.

About you

We’re looking for someone with genuine enthusiasm for learning and growth.  You don’t have to have experience in every language or technology we use, but you’ll definitely be looking to challenge yourself to master them.  What’s essential though is that you approach problems with a creative mind, always looking for a different angle to improve outcomes and being flexible in how you think.

You’ll be the sort of person that’s motivated by the objective of a project and the performance when it’s in place, engaging with the process and the people involved, and genuinely interested in learning more about our clients and their world.  We all know our clients by name, and everyone gets involved with client calls from time to time, so you should be able to simplify technical language and concepts for non-technical people.

Skills

It goes without saying that you’ll have experience of HTML and CSS, but crucially we’re looking for someone with strong skills in JS, PHP and MVC frameworks. Some knowledge of some PHP based CMS frameworks such as WordPress and/or Laravel is also preferred.

If you’ve got knowledge of development work flows including git, experience of working in an agile environment and knowledge of package based development (composer/node), that’s even better.

And if you’ve got experience with server technologies including Azure and AWS, Laravel Technologies including Livewire and Nova, Angular or React and other languages/frameworks, they’ll certainly come in handy (but they’re not essential).

About us

We’re a team of 10, working with HR leaders to help solve a wide range of challenges. As an example, we design and develop learning technology solutions to help organisations up-skill and re-skill their employees in a more friendly, digital and accessible way.  We also develop web-based tools to help organisations make better decisions on everything from budget allocation to learning content development, and how to improve their employees’ experience.

We work hard as a team, putting our heart and soul into every project, so our developers don’t just build, they contribute to our ideation and design process.  It means that the whole team can take pride in the finished article, as well as their area of expertise.

Who you'll be working with

Kit’s our Technical Director. He oversees the smooth running of the development team, advises on technical solutions and liaises with our clients’ in-house technical teams or partner suppliers.

Phoebe is one of our project managers and she’ll make sure you have everything you need to get your job done. She’s a master at preparing briefs, creating work tickets and making sure clients are always kept informed.
