Cornerstone integration

Integrating your data with Cornerstone LMS

Keeping your organisation’s data up to date in Cornerstone is essential. Having data flow from your HRIS and other systems in real time means new starters can access CSOD on their first day, users get the right content recommendations, and managers can effectively manage their team’s training.

Sometimes connecting your data is relatively straightforward but there isn’t always a connector available, or the connector may not support all of the functionality you need. We have seen this with several platforms including Workday, Oracle and more which is where our custom API integrations come into play, helping our clients get the data they need in or out of Cornerstone OnDemand.

Cornerstone Workday Integration

We have connected Workday data with Cornerstone OnDemand using a custom API. Our custom API lets an organisation specify the data they want to send from Workday to CSOD. The data is then transformed and mapped to the appropriate fields before being uploaded via an API into CSOD. The API runs in the background so the data is constantly being refreshed throughout the day.

Benefits of integrating your Cornerstone platform

  1. Improved efficiency. If you are one of the many organisations keeping your user data in CSOD up to date by manually creating and managing imports then not only will integration save you time but it will also allow for faster onboarding and offboarding because users don’t have to wait for you to upload the latest version of the file – it all happens using the API in the background.
  2. More accurate data. Not only is the data updated much more frequently so the data is accurate it also reduces the possibility of human error because the process is automated so you don’t end up with the wrong file being uploaded if you are relying on manual uploads.
  3. Fantastic user experience  – Automating the flow of data ensures that employees are enrolled into courses relevant to their job roles, departments, or levels, based on their profiles. This personalisation enhances the user experience by making learning more relevant.
  4. Scalability. Because the API integration is an automated process that occurs in the background as the volume of data expands this is handled seamlessly unlike a manual process where managing change can become more and more challenging.
  5. Resource and cost savings – Once the integration is set up, the need for ongoing manual intervention and data migration reduces, which saves you and your team time to focus on other tasks.
