Challenge

Hiscox faced a critical gap in leadership consistency across the business. Despite investing in premium content, their existing platform was restrictive and manual administrative tasks (like managing cohorts, session invites, and calendar syncing) became unsustainable. The sheer volume of admin hours required threatened to stall the entire programme before it could even begin.

Solution

We built a bespoke programme interface that acts as an “elevated” overlay for their Cornerstone LMS. We developed a system that automates cohort sign-ups, syncs live sessions directly to learner calendars, and enforces a structured, linear learning path. This solution combined the power of their existing LMS with a custom, user-centric interface that prioritises the learner journey.

Outcome

The administrative burden was effectively eliminated, turning a labour-intensive process into an automated, scalable success. The leadership team now has a high-end platform that matches the quality of their content. The transition was so seamless that Hiscox didn’t hesitate to migrate their Global Induction and Management Fundamentals programmes onto the same structure.

By taking standard Cornerstone functionality and elevating it, we’ve delivered a premium user interface that remains fully integrated with Hiscox’s core reporting systems. Managers enjoy a seamless, high-end experience, while the business maintains all necessary completion data and compliance tracking in one central location.

A custom course hub for clear visibility

We created a dedicated course overview page that serves as the single source of truth for every learner. It clearly lists required live events, breaks the programme down into digestible modules, and provides visual progress indicators. This transparency ensures that leaders understand the time commitment required and exactly where they stand in their developmental journey.

A range of flexible components

The platform was built using a “low-content-management” approach, offering a variety of flexible blocks that the Hiscox team can edit themselves. Whether adding a new lesson, a video, or a text-based resource, the layout remains clean and professional. This flexibility allowed the structure to be easily adapted for other global programmes beyond the initial leadership project.

Access key events from within lessons

To solve the issue of learners missing live sessions, we integrated key event access directly into the module flow. Our system has a background relationship with Cornerstone to verify attendance, a step is only marked as complete once the user has actually attended the live session. This removes the need for manual check-ins and keeps the momentum of the cohort moving forward.

Test your learning with fun knowledge checks

To ensure the high-quality content was actually being absorbed, we implemented interactive knowledge checks throughout the journey. These checks act as a verification system, ensuring learners have mastered the “Leadership Fundamentals” before they are permitted to move on to more advanced stages of the linear programme.
